Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I apply?

All of our vacancies are advertised on the Current Openings tab of this website. You can search for vacancies that match your skills and experience and you can submit an application and upload your CV.

2. What if I can't find a vacancy to suit me?

You can create a job agent and upload your CV. The job agent will email you when new opportunities are available that match what you are looking for. You can then submit an application.

3. I’m not currently eligible to work in the UK. Can I still apply?

We are delighted to accept applications from all candidates, however Electricity North West can't process work permit applications on behalf of candidates as we're not a registered sponsoring employer with the UK Border Agency. You must have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship from Electricity North West to be considered.

You will need to state on your application what basis you are eligible to work in the UK, and be able to provide documentary evidence to this effect.

4. What happens to my application after I’ve submitted it?

Once you've submitted your online application, we’ll send you an email to confirm we've received it. Our team will then shortlist the best candidates for the job. If we think you could be just what we're looking for, we will contact you to let you know about the next step in the process. This could be an interview, an assessment day or an online assessment. If, on this occasion, you're unsuccessful, we'll send you an email to let you know.

5. Can I get feedback on my application?

Whilst we are committed to responding to all applicants to let you know the outcome of your application, we are only able to provide specific feedback to candidates following interview or assessment. We are unable to provide feedback on applications that don't pass the initial short list stage.

6. Where will I be based and will I need to travel?

Our roles are based all over the North West, across Lancashire, Cumbria, Cheshire and Greater Manchester. There may be some travel involved in your role, especially if you work as an engineer.

Any requirement to travel with your role will be discussed with you during the selection process.

7. Will you support my personal and professional development?

Everyone at Electricity North West benefits from regular performance reviews with their manager. They’ll help you identify areas in which you want to develop. From becoming more effective in your role, to learning the skills that will help you move on to a more senior role. Meanwhile our dedicated training facility develops people’s technical skills. Plus, we offer a wide range of other learning and development options. So whatever your role, you’ll have the opportunity to progress within the business.

8. Can I do a work placement or work experience with you?

We don't currently offer work placements or work experience. We are working towards being able to offer these in the future. At such time, any opportunities will be advertised on this website.
